Reconnecting to WIDI TV

I have a WIDI enabled LG TV and have managed to connect my Windows 10 laptop to the TV via screen share through the Connected Devices in the Windows setting. My questions is how to I reconnect after I have turned the laptop off then on again? Each time I am turning the laptop on I go back into Connected Devices and remove the TV (device) then add it again after the Laptop has found it. This seems cumbersome. If the TV is already in my device list on the laptop I should be able to just connect but can't find a button to do so.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Windows 10 - Miracast Problem

I'm connecting to Philips Smart TV from my Toshiba Satellite P55-A5312 via Miracast. I have latest WIDI software (6.0.44), supported hardware with latest drivers (Intel HD Graphics Family 4400 , Intel Wireless N 7260, Intel Core i5) & Windows 10 64.

I connect from Settings > Devices > Connected Devices > Add Device. There are three devices - PHILIPS TV (Digital Media Renderer), PHILIPS TV (Digital Media Server) and PHILIPS TV (Television). I Choose Television. A screen "Connecting To Philips TV" emerges, my TV writes "Connecting...". Then Device Setup Window (Installing Philips TV) is opened. "Connected" is written on the TV, PC screen turns black for a second, but then i get a notification "Something Went Wrong". PHILIPS TV is added to Projectors. Then after some seconds my TV writes "WiFi Miracast Canceled". When i try to connect from Action Center, it says 'Can't Connect', nothing is written on TV.

I can connect my Android Phone to TV via Cast Screen with no problems, so it's likely a PC problem

Hey ,

I'm trying to mirror my laptop display to my panasonic TV.

The scenario:

intel widi application finds the tv (panasonic AS700) when scanning for devices - while the tv is in "display mirroring" mode.

when i try to connect, the tv prompts me that my laptop is trying to connect and do i approve this connection - once i click yes -

the tv is trying to connect but can't establish a connection.until a timeout occurs i guess.

any help would be appreciated.

WiDi doesn't connect to Aizbo Miracast dongle

From Windows 7 with WiDi or Windows 8.1 builtin Miracast/Widi, one can connect to the $30 Aizbo Miracast/AirPlay dongle (http://www.amazon.com/Aizbo-Wireless-Miracast-Ezmirror-Compatible/dp/B00R495GWM) but then the connection drops with "your high definition digital display device did not supply the required identification data (EDID)."  Is there a way around this or does it mean the dongle needs some OTA update (which may never come)?

Checker tool says yes, Intel Widi says no!

Hello. I have just checked my system using the compatibility checker and got a positive answer(i5 5200U + Intel HD Graphics 5500[laptop also contains an nvidia geforce 920m] + Qualcomm Atheros AR956x) saying that my system supports wireless screen sharing via Miracast. Yet when I try to install the tool itself(Intel WIDI) I get a negative answer saying that the platform is not compatible with WIDI. Am I doing something wrong or am I missing a driver? Thank you!

Can't get WiDi on Windows 8.1

I've recently updated to windows 8.1 and I can no longer connect to my TV.

I first updated to 8.1, then the WiDi software told me that I need to udpate it together with some drivers. I did all this and according to the automatic detection of drivers on the intel site I'm running the latest drivers.

When I go to devices and Project - I don't have an option to select the TV. I have only one option -> Project to a connected screen. The laptop is currently not connected to any screen and selecting any of the options doesn't do anything.

I manually went to the device center and added the TV, but still - after that I'm unable to project any image to it.

Maybe relevant: I'm normally connected to 3 external displays, but when I try to connect to the TV I'm disconnected from them. Despite that it seems that win 8.1 is not picking up the TV.

I tried rebooting, reseting the network adapter, but nothing seems to help. Any ideas?

The connection to a 1080p FullHD TV always connects but then while watching a video it stops working and one has to reconnect. It seems random and i have also checked and updated to the latest drivers as specified http://www.intel.com/support/wireless/wtech/iwd/sb/CS-031109.htm .

I am always using WIDI in Presentation mode (only TV is on)

My spec as follows

Acer Aspire 5755G

4GB

i5 2430M

Win 7 64bit

WIDI Software 2.1.42.0

with

Netgear and also Belkin widi adapter (same problems)

Any help appreciated?

Thanks in advance.

Auto Connect Functionality in Intel WiDi 6.0.44.0?

$

We have a NUC-Kit NUC5i3RYK with a Dual Band Wireless-AC 7265 and Win7 Ultimate installed. Win7 is up to date and we used WiDi Update Tool to install all new drivers and WiDi utility (6.0.44.0).

Furthermore we have a Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter (MWDA) with latest firmware. With WiDi utility we can pair and duplicate screen to our television.

What we are missing is "Auto Connect" function shown on many screenshots of WiDi utility. As they look different from our version 6.0.44.0 I thought of using another version of WiDi utility. But whenever I install an older version, it stops working.

Please tell me how to use "Auto Connect" function with our given environment.

Support of multitouch external display

Just wondering if anyone out there has been able to get the usb-over-ip support working with an external multitouch display (eg. HP EliteDisplay E220t , Dell S2240T , Dell P2314T , Acer T232HL, Samsung Touch Overlay) ?  We find that it works fine with a simple HID device (such as a Microsoft usb mouse) but am yet to find any multitouch monitors that work with it.

Help needed - WiDi between my PC and HDTV (only monitor for my PC)

Hi all,

I need your help in setting up my wireless display.I want to mirror my PC into my HDTV. My HDTV is going to be my only display for my PC. I do not have any other monitor. I want to keep my desktop far from my TV and connect it through wireless. I am using Intel pentium G3220 on Asus H81M V3 motherboard. Running windows 8.1.  Seems like my processor is not WiDi capable. I want to play videos, surf the net and run every other software I have installed in desktop wirelessly.

What do I need?

  1. Only a receiver, like Microsoft wireless display adapter (Amazon.com: Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter: Computers & Accessories ) or

  2. Transmitter -receiver kit like  ( http://www.amazon.com/Actiontec-SBWD100KIT01-ScreenBeam-Wireless-Transmitter/dp/B009Z8T3K6/ref=sr_1_2?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1445863401&sr=1-2&keywords=actiontec+wireless+kit)

Say,

I configure wireless adapter kit once for all and shut down my PC. Now no more wired connection between my desktop and HDTV. I do not have any other monitor hooked up to my PC.  Since My HDTV is going to be my only display. I am looking for a solution, that once I power on my PC and HDTV, the display should be there on the TV wirelessly. Possible?I need your expert advice on this please.

Thanks,

Partha

Can I delete the DMP and text files in the WiMAX Bin folder?

I periodically go through my computer to try and make space. Recently its been very full for no real reason and I noticed after searching that one file in particular was eating up 344 GB of space on my 681 GB harddrive.  The source of the space was in the Intel folder. Inside was  WiMAX folder, and inside that was a Bin folder. There were a good 12,844 files of various sizes there that equaled to 344 GB of space on my harddrive.

What I want to know is whether or not I can delete these files, or which ones I can delete? Most start with file names like "AppSrv_0_0_27.dmp" or "LogsDump_AppSrv700" obviously the numbers are many and various.

I need to know if these files can be deleted? How can I know if these files are being used by other things in my computer?

Recently purchased 7 LG 60LF6100 smart TVs.  My Windows 8.0 laptop connects easily, repeatedly and well (so I'm fairly confident it is not an LG problem.)   Other employees with windows 8.1 machines can find the tvs but cannot connect.  Employees with Windows 7 cannot even find the TVs.  What do I do?

Will Wireless display work on system resume?

$

Hi,

I have 3 scenarios for which I am looking for answers.

Scenario 1: has two screens

I connect a PC to  TV via wireless using Microsoft Wireless Adapter. I use the sleep/hibernate option. Now when I resume windows, will I be able to see the display in the TV without adding it again through "add wireless display"? or should I add it again?

Scenario 2: has single screen

I have connected my PC to my only screen (HDTV) through HDMI Cable. My HDTV is going to be my only display device for my PC .  So after my initial setup of the adapter with wired connection, I am going to sleep/hibernate my PC .I remove the wired connection. When I resume windows on my PC, will I will be able to see the display on my TV through MS wireless adapter? (There is no other monitor hooked up, my TV is my only display)

Scenario 3: has single screen

and what if instead of sleep/hibernate I shut down my PC and restart it... will the display be on my TV (There is no other monitor hooked up, my TV is my only display)

In other words Is there a way in windows settings where I can save my HDTV as a wireless display so that even if I restart I can establish wireless connection N times without "adding wireless display" ?

Can anyone try this and let me know please? Your help will be appreciated.

Thanks,

Poompavai
