WiDi connection problem Win 10 - Lenovo Y50-70

Hi,

When I connect my Laptop to the TV through WiDi it seems to connect (a message appears - "Connected to Intel WiDi application") but then the TV screen goes blank. Changing resolution doesn't solve the problem. I use Windows 10, all drivers are updated to latest versions, TV supports WiDi (I can connect my Samsung Galaxy) and has the latest firmware. According to system requirements everything should work. The only issue is that I am using dedicated Lenovo display drivers for my Intel HD 4600 from Lenovo website as the ones from Intel website won't recognize it (i get a message about wrong operating system version when I try to install them).

My Laptop specs:

- Operating System  -  Windows10x64

- CPU model   i7-4710HQ 2.50GHz

- Graphics adapter model  -  Intel HD Graphics 4600 and NVIDIA GTX 860M (disabled)

- Graphics adapter driver  -   10.18.15.4279

- Wireless adapter Model  -  Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260

- Wireless adapter driver  -  18.12.0.3

- WiDi receiver ID  -  Toshiba F516

- Intel WIDi version - 6.0.44.0

Thank you in advance for your help.

WIDI error "AT&T U-Verse: A connection error occured..."

My WIDI stopped working all together. Here is the following sequence of events:

1. I purchased a new WIDI receiver (Actiontec Mini2) and used it for a bit and it worked perfectly. This was on Win 7 64bit.

2. I upgraded to Windows 10. (This was a bad idea because I have a 3rd gen I5-3317 with HD 4000)

3. After numerous attempts of trying to get the WIDI to connect to the adapter, I gave up and decided to revert back to Win 7.

4. After reverting back to Win 7, I tried connecting to the Actinotec Mini2 only to have the following message appear while searchingwidi error.png

5. I cannot get the WIDI app to detect the adapter.

6. I even went as far as to do a factory reset, updated the WIDI driver using the following (Support Knowledge Base)

7. I'm still getting the issue shown in the attachment. It pops up every time I try and do a scan.

Any suggestions would be great.

Hi,

I am having a problem with Widi/Miracast under Windows 10 Technical Preview Build 10130 on my laptop with following hardware HD3000 Graphics and N2230 Wifi card.

Under Windows 7 (64bit) everything worked perfectly however Windows 10 can't find my wireless display adapter. I have tried the Widi update tool which tell me I need to install intel wireless display software 4.3.3.0 however every time I try to install it tells me the OS is not supported. I have also uninstalled and reinstalled the latest drivers but so far nothing has worked.

Anyone faced any similar issues or any suggestions on how to install the Widi software.

Thank,

HK

Compatibility problems with WiDi after upgrading my Samsung laptop to Windows 10? Does anyone know if a solution is on its way?

As per the heading. All working fine until the upgrade. It seems that the Samsung provided Intel Display Driver can't run the WiDi in Windows 10 and you can't update the drivers from the Intel Driver Update tool or the Samsung one. Does anyone know of a solution? Many thanks

Lenovo U410 WiDi Issues

Hi,

I'm trying to make Intel Widi run on my U410 (4376). I'm running Windows10 Pro N x64. I'm talking about the software itself as i will not buy any reciever hardware till it works in case of software.

At first I checked the system requirements:

CPU: i3-3217u - Intel website/data sheet says okay.

GPU: Intel HD4000 - Intel website/ data sheet says okay.

Network Card: Intel Centrino Advanced N6200 AGN - Intel website/data sheet says okay.

So i downloaded the Widi software directly from Intel. The installation failed. Errors: CPU, GPU and network card would not meet the requirements. Suspicious, so i read some threads in this board, the lenovo board and some others.

Because the U410 has not only a HD4000 graphics card but also a Nvidia GT610 I thougt that could cause some problems, so I uninstalled and deactivated the GT610 in the device manager and told the BIOS to use the HD4000 only. Problems still there.

Updated HD4000 and network card drivers - nothing.

Got some advice from another thread in this board: use OEM Software. So i downloaded the widi installer from the lenovo drivers website for my notebook, installed it - successfully.. but the software will just show me some Intel logo when I start it, nothing else, window freezes and doesn't respond anymore.

Restart, running it in admin mode and/or compatibilty mode to win 7, 8, 8.1 without any sucess.

Maybe somebody has some tricks for me I don't know yet.. I desperatly want to use Widi and when i trust Intels system requirement sites and the data sheets of my hardware components it should be possibe to get it working.

After writing the part above this line I found another thread here, WiDi on Windows10 only works with WiDi Pro.. I dont meet the system requirements for that (I think so after a brief check). Would a downgrade to Win8(.1) help? I like Win10 a lot more than 8..

Thanks in advance,

Sebastian

Support of multitouch external display

Just wondering if anyone out there has been able to get the usb-over-ip support working with an external multitouch display (eg. HP EliteDisplay E220t , Dell S2240T , Dell P2314T , Acer T232HL, Samsung Touch Overlay) ?  We find that it works fine with a simple HID device (such as a Microsoft usb mouse) but am yet to find any multitouch monitors that work with it.

Intel WiDi driver update crashed Windows 10 on Dell Latitude E5550, can't reboot

Recently upgraded from Windows 7 to 10 on very new Dell Latitude E5550 laptop, all was working fine.  Went to Intel website to download WiDi driver updates in anticipation of using this laptop with a wireless display at work.  Ran Intel WiDi driver update tool from link on Intel website; Windows 10 crashed so hard in the middle of running the update tool that I am completely unable to reboot the computer in any mode after multiple troubleshooting and restart efforts.  Selected "Go back to the previous build" as a last resort, and computer has been hung on "restarting" for last half hour.  Any ideas?  Thanks.

WIDI sometimes works and most of the times doesn't

Dear Sirs,

I was delighted to find a few days ago about WI-DI. However, when I've tried to use it I find it impossible to make it work.

This is the SW and HW I have:

- Computer make and model: Dell Latitude E5430

- Wireless adapter model: Intel® Centrino® Advanced-N 6205

- Wireless driver version: 15.11.0.7

- CPU model: Intel® Core™ i5-3340M CPU 2.70GHz

- Intel® HD graphics model: Intel HD Graphics 4000

- Intel® HD graphics driver: 9.17.10.3517

- Wireless display receiver model: Samsung TV f8000

- Wireless display receiver firmware: not sure, but updated today

I have been able to use it nearly three times since I installed it like ten days ago. I follow the same steps everytime and just a few times worked.

The TV says that the connection has been established, but the laptop continue saying "connecting".

I've updated the version to the latest, both for TV and laptop.

Any help would be much appreciated.

widi & virtual network driver

Hi,

using the MS Wireless display adaptor on Thinkpad Yoga (v1) running Windows 10 x64

I updated my portable to all latest drivers (only wireless available)

Intel HD Graphics Family v10.18.15.4279

Intel Dual Band Wireless AC-7260 v18.20.0.9

Hyper-V Virtual Ethenet Adaptor v10.0.10240.16384 (on the AC wireless AC)

Intel Widi v6.0.44.0

f I remove the Hyper-V virtual Ethernet adaptor : widi is able to connect

If I reactivate the Hyper-V driver: not possible to find a wireless display

I've seen some links about virtual box & VMWare, nothing mentioned in compatible hardware list about virtual network drivers

So is a virtual network adaptor supported or not

if not are there any plans to support it, we're living in a virtual world nowadays

if yes , some tweaks to follow, other driver for Hyper-V (on Win8 some issues were resolved with a broadcom driver)

thx

Patrik

Add support to legacy devices in Intel pro Widi software

$

Hello,

I bought an HP x2 13-j001nf with core m 5Y10 and ac 7265 wireless adapter. I installed triple boot: Windows 7, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10.

Now, I need to update the firmware of my Belkin Screencast, but for now it is not recognized on any os.

After searching a lot, I found that people were able to connect and upgrade using Intel wireless display software for windows. They needed to check: scan for legacy devices...

The problem is that I can't install Intel wireless display software for windows because the soft is too old for my processor. I can only install Intel pro Widi software, but it lacks of a scan for legacy devices option.

I know the Belkin Screencast is discontinued, but it is a Widi TV adapter which requires Windows 7 and Intel Core processor. I tried to connect under Windows 7 without success.

Can you confirm that Intel pro Widi software doesn't have support for legacy devices in Windows 7 ?

Is there a workaround to be able to upgrade my Belkin Screencast ?

PS: Don't tell me about 5ghz or to disable firewall ... all is done and doesn't solve the problem!

Thanks in advance for your help.

WiDi connection problem Windows 10 - Lenovo Z580 - Intel tools tell WiDi (not Pro) available - use 8.1 drivers / applications - Windows 10 tells - "cannot be installed, not supported or compatible"...

Hi,

after upgrade to Windows 10 I lost WiDi (not Pro) - Intel Drivers, Support and Communities are telling me "use Windows 8.1" products, Windows 10 tells me "cannot be installed, not supported..." - this even happens if I use Windows 8 compatibility mode - cannot be installed, not supported...

Will Intel WiDi (not Pro) be supported by Intel in Windows 10? Drivers and applications would need an update... Will this come to your users?

Kind regards

Dirk

[Windows 10] WiDi display resolution cannot be set to 1920 x 1080

H/W Config:  Intel Dual Band Wireless N 7260, and Intel HD Graphics 4200

WiDi worked flawlessly in Win8.1.  But same H/W running on Win10 with latest drivers (10.18.15.4279 for graphics and 18.20.0.9 for network) gives me problems:

1.  I cannot get the WiDi projected screen to display in 1920 x 1080.  The best it can do is 1366 x 768.

2.  In the Intel WiDi Pro Software, even when connected to the wireless display, in settings it still shows "Display settings are only available when connected to an Intel certified wireless display receiver".  See attached.

I'd like to stress once again that this very same hardware config including my TV (i.e. the WiDi receiver) worked perfectly under Windows 8.1.  Full 1920 x 1080 resolution etc.

BTW I have another machine also running on Win10 with components that are a step down:  Intel Centrino Advanced N 6205 + Intel HD Graphics 4000.  But this machine works 100% with the TV I am using when connected via WiDi with the TV display fully recognized and configurable to 1920 x 1080.

Help needed - WiDi between my PC and HDTV (only monitor for my PC)

Hi all,

I need your help in setting up my wireless display.I want to mirror my PC into my HDTV. My HDTV is going to be my only display for my PC. I do not have any other monitor. I want to keep my desktop far from my TV and connect it through wireless. I am using Intel pentium G3220 on Asus H81M V3 motherboard. Running windows 8.1.  Seems like my processor is not WiDi capable. I want to play videos, surf the net and run every other software I have installed in desktop wirelessly.

What do I need?

  1. Only a receiver, like Microsoft wireless display adapter (Amazon.com: Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter: Computers & Accessories ) or

  2. Transmitter -receiver kit like  ( http://www.amazon.com/Actiontec-SBWD100KIT01-ScreenBeam-Wireless-Transmitter/dp/B009Z8T3K6/ref=sr_1_2?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1445863401&sr=1-2&keywords=actiontec+wireless+kit)

Say,

I configure wireless adapter kit once for all and shut down my PC. Now no more wired connection between my desktop and HDTV. I do not have any other monitor hooked up to my PC.  Since My HDTV is going to be my only display. I am looking for a solution, that once I power on my PC and HDTV, the display should be there on the TV wirelessly. Possible?I need your expert advice on this please.

Thanks,

Partha

Ok I fixed the issue that restricts the installation of Intel Widi Remote 1.0 in windows 10!  I installed Intel Widi Remote 1.0 (which runs on Windows 8.1) in windows 8.1, then exported all the registry entries pertaining to widi remote and merged them all into the registry in windows 10 and then copied the widi remote folder to windows 10 and now I can successfully execute widi remote 1.0 in windows 10!

So, if you want Intel Widi Remote 1.0 to run on Windows 10, just download this file and follow the read me instructions in the text file included:

Auto Connect Functionality in Intel WiDi 6.0.44.0?

$

We have a NUC-Kit NUC5i3RYK with a Dual Band Wireless-AC 7265 and Win7 Ultimate installed. Win7 is up to date and we used WiDi Update Tool to install all new drivers and WiDi utility (6.0.44.0).

Furthermore we have a Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter (MWDA) with latest firmware. With WiDi utility we can pair and duplicate screen to our television.

What we are missing is "Auto Connect" function shown on many screenshots of WiDi utility. As they look different from our version 6.0.44.0 I thought of using another version of WiDi utility. But whenever I install an older version, it stops working.

Please tell me how to use "Auto Connect" function with our given environment.

Regards, Kai
