Checker tool says yes, Intel Widi says no!

Hello. I have just checked my system using the compatibility checker and got a positive answer(i5 5200U + Intel HD Graphics 5500[laptop also contains an nvidia geforce 920m] + Qualcomm Atheros AR956x) saying that my system supports wireless screen sharing via Miracast. Yet when I try to install the tool itself(Intel WIDI) I get a negative answer saying that the platform is not compatible with WIDI. Am I doing something wrong or am I missing a driver? Thank you!

Widi & Windows 8.1 problems

Hi,

I have a Belkin Screencast adapter and an ASUS Zenbook UX31A.

I have updated Windows 8 to Windows 8.1 and launched the latest Widi software to check the configuration. With Windows 8.1, it is no longer necessary to have the Widi application.

The problem is that when I connect my Belkin adapter from the charm menu, the connection with the PIN code is successful, then my PC screen goes black and my TV displays "Connection in progress"...... Then my PC screen goes back to my Windows desktop and my TV returns to "Ready to connect".

So, the connection fall down and it is impossible to connect it correctly. I repeadted theses steps and the connection is always stopped before displaying anything on my TV....n

All my drivers are up to date... Do you have solutions ?

Support of multitouch external display

Just wondering if anyone out there has been able to get the usb-over-ip support working with an external multitouch display (eg. HP EliteDisplay E220t , Dell S2240T , Dell P2314T , Acer T232HL, Samsung Touch Overlay) ?  We find that it works fine with a simple HID device (such as a Microsoft usb mouse) but am yet to find any multitouch monitors that work with it.

Auto Connect Functionality in Intel WiDi 6.0.44.0?

We have a NUC-Kit NUC5i3RYK with a Dual Band Wireless-AC 7265 and Win7 Ultimate installed. Win7 is up to date and we used WiDi Update Tool to install all new drivers and WiDi utility (6.0.44.0).

Furthermore we have a Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter (MWDA) with latest firmware. With WiDi utility we can pair and duplicate screen to our television.

What we are missing is "Auto Connect" function shown on many screenshots of WiDi utility. As they look different from our version 6.0.44.0 I thought of using another version of WiDi utility. But whenever I install an older version, it stops working.

Please tell me how to use "Auto Connect" function with our given environment.

processor not capable running widi

Hello,

I have a Dell Inspiron 1720 running Windows 7-64 with :

- Intel Ivy Bridge I7 3630QM

- Intel 4000 integrated graphic card

- Intel Centrino Advanced N 6250 AGN wireless.

There is also a NVidia GeForce GT650M graphic card that is desactivated.

That configuation is supposed to be WiDi compatible.

I first installed WiDi 4.2.29.0 but it didn't work correctly : it recognized the TV compatible WiDi adaptor but never succeeded in getting an Ip address.

So I uninstalled WiDi and tried to reinstall it and got the "Platform not compatible" error message.

I tried several times and always got the same error.

When I run the Intel WiDi compatiblity tool, I get the message "Your processor is not capable of running Intel Widi Technology".

What is the problem ? and the solution ?

Thanks for your help.

WiDi and Windows 10 on compatible hardware problem

Hello

I've got Lenovo T440s (Intel Wireless-N 7260, Intel Core i5 4th gen processor, Intel HD 4400 Graphics) and I want to connect it to my Sony Bravia TV (Miracast certified) wirelessly.

I've made clean Windows 10 installation. At this point WiDi connection works 8 times out of 10. Then, Windows automatically installs necessary drivers (for touchpad, graphics, etc.). At this point I could hardly get WiDi working, it starts to connect to my TV and then just fails.

So, I went to Intel forum and found out that I should install latest drivers from Intel (graphics, networking and Intel WiDi Pro software). I have installed all that stuff, but nothing changed. My hardware seems to be compatible with Intel WiDi Pro, as I could install necessary software and WiDi check tool reports it is compatible. Also, my antivirus/firewall is disabled. But I still can't get WiDi working - laptop sees my TV, it starts to connect, my TV shows connection, but then it fails.

Drivers version and log produced by WiDi Pro are attached.

Please, help me resolve this issue.

Miracast WIDI Confusion

I am troubleshooting an issue where my Lenovo G50 laptop running Windows 10 64 bit will connect to my Roku HDMI stick but there is only audio with a black screen for about 2 minutes then disconnects.  When the connection happens Intel WiDi displays on the primary monitor.

The Roku has Screen Mirroring capability and is in Beta so it is not a WiDi certified device.  I have two tablets that will connect with Windows 10 using Miracast but does not (to my knowlege) use WiDi.

So here is my confusion.  Is WiDi and Miracast the same thing?

My first thought in obtaining a connection to the Roku would be to remove anything that is Intel WiDi so that Windows 10 Miracast can do the work.  Is that an acceptable solution?

Even more strange is that the Lenovo did connect up to it two times with video when I tried it out for the very first time.  It hasn't worked since after updating or downgrading video drivers, WiDi Update tools, Driver Update tools, etc.

Another interesting thing...I see with the tablets running the Intel Graphics program the Roku (as a Samsung product?) as a second display.  I do not see a wireless display connected with the Lenovo even with the black screen and audio only.

Thanks for any ideas that you can offer.

Jerry

Widi in Window 10

Hi,

I am having a problem with Widi/Miracast under Windows 10 Technical Preview Build 10130 on my laptop with following hardware HD3000 Graphics and N2230 Wifi card.

Under Windows 7 (64bit) everything worked perfectly however Windows 10 can't find my wireless display adapter. I have tried the Widi update tool which tell me I need to install intel wireless display software 4.3.3.0 however every time I try to install it tells me the OS is not supported. I have also uninstalled and reinstalled the latest drivers but so far nothing has worked.

Anyone faced any similar issues or any suggestions on how to install the Widi software.

Thank,

HK

how to connect to lg 60LF6100 with windows 8.1

Recently purchased 7 LG 60LF6100 smart TVs.  My Windows 8.0 laptop connects easily, repeatedly and well (so I'm fairly confident it is not an LG problem.)   Other employees with windows 8.1 machines can find the tvs but cannot connect.  Employees with Windows 7 cannot even find the TVs.  What do I do?

Alles ok, aber keine Verbindung - No widi connection!

Hallo,

as far as I know  , the hardware (see below)  should be capable of doing wi-di. but it does´nt.  I installed the latest drivers. Widi was installed without problems. On tv I can see.the laptop-ID, but not vice versa on laptop the TV-ID. My laptop has hybrid graphic installed (see below). Could that be the cause, or what can Ido to get it functining?

I´m grateful for every answer.

Best wishes

Wireless Card Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 18.2.0.9

Adapter Microsoft wireless display adapter

The microsoft wireless display adapter worked well with mobile.

But intel widi software can not list the adapter.

I have already disabled the firewall and windows defender.

I tried Intel WiDi Update Tool, it show an update version 6.0.44.0 for intel widi software. click next, install will fail.

I review the intel widi software 6.0.44.0 download page, it's for intel widi pro and my hardware does not support widi pro. Is this Intel WiDi Update Tool's bug?

The latest version that support intel widi is 4.2.29.0

New drivers and WiDi software did not resolve Windows 10 issues.

The new graphics and wireless drivers are installed.  New WiDi software loaded.  System meets WiDi requirements (4th Gen Core i7, 7260-N Wireless).  Actiontec ScreenBeam Pro Wireless Display Receiver updated to latest firmware (which states, "Adds Windows 10 support").

Click Connect in the Action Center, ScreenBeam does not show up.  I can connect to the ScreenBeam with my Windows Phone, my Windows tablet (BayTrail Celeron CPU, Realtek WiFi), my Android tablet, and my laptop connected before updating to Windows 10.

Just letting you know, this is not fixed.

H/W Config:  Intel Dual Band Wireless N 7260, and Intel HD Graphics 4200

WiDi worked flawlessly in Win8.1.  But same H/W running on Win10 with latest drivers (10.18.15.4279 for graphics and 18.20.0.9 for network) gives me problems:

1.  I cannot get the WiDi projected screen to display in 1920 x 1080.  The best it can do is 1366 x 768.

2.  In the Intel WiDi Pro Software, even when connected to the wireless display, in settings it still shows "Display settings are only available when connected to an Intel certified wireless display receiver".  See attached.

I'd like to stress once again that this very same hardware config including my TV (i.e. the WiDi receiver) worked perfectly under Windows 8.1.  Full 1920 x 1080 resolution etc.

BTW I have another machine also running on Win10 with components that are a step down:  Intel Centrino Advanced N 6205 + Intel HD Graphics 4000.  But this machine works 100% with the TV I am using when connected via WiDi with the TV display fully recognized and configurable to 1920 x 1080.

I have a HP Zbook 15 with Integrated Intel HD Graphics 4600 and Nvidia Quadro K1200M. The laptop has Intel Dual Band Wireless-N 7260 and Intel Core i7-4810MQ CPU @ 2.80GHz processor. The graphics driver selection is turned to automatic and for specific program like Intel WiDi integrated Intel graphics card is selected. But still then, in compatibility check for Intel WiDi, it is showing that the graphics driver is disabled or undetected.
