Intel Widi and Samsung TV connected once but will not connect again

$

I have an Intel EliteBook with latest Intel Widi and the required drivers installed. I have a Samsung UA40F6400 and after several unsuccessful attempts I was able to connect my laptop wirelessly to my TV. But this happened just once...it hasn't connected again so far. Here's how I was able to connect that one time:

1) Start Intel Widi on laptop

2) Put your Samsung TV in Screen Mirroring mode through All Share (or clicking source button and selecting Screen Mirroring).

3) Scan for wireless display in Intel Widi

4) Intel Widi detects the Samsung TV showing its name and status as available

5) Click "Connect" against the display on Intel Widi

6) A Pin is shown on the TV which you need to enter in to Intel Widi

7) After the pin was entered, the laptop display is mirrored on the TV screen.

I was able to play a whole movie this way from laptop to TV with good sound without interruption but I have not since been able to do this again. Steps #1 to #5 are completed but nothing after that meaning no PIN is shown for connection and it stays in this connecting mode. Not sure what changed. But if was able to connect it once, this means Intel Widi and this Samsung model are compatible but some piece is missing randomly in between. Any help would be appreciated.

Sony Vaio Pro 13 cannot use the Miracast in Windows 8.1

My Sony Laptop's Model SVP132190X

I've followed the update manual for installing Windows8.1 in Sony Vaio pro 13.

Please see the weblink Sony eSupport - Windows 8 & 8.1 Upgrade information for the manual.

After updating Windows8.1 and the additional windows updates, I've removed the graphic and wifi driver.

Then download and install the latest driver version in intel's download site.

But I cannot see the "add a wireless display" icon in the device->project on the charms.

I've checked the WiDI update tool of Windows 8.1 on Support Knowledge Base

The WiDi update tool said "No updates required. WiDi is ready to use" (Please see the attached screen shot)

How can I enable the Miracast in my laptop?

My graphic driver is HD 4400 and version is 10.18.10.3621 (2014-05-17)

My wifi driver is Wireless-N 7260 and version is 17.0.3.2 (2014-04-23)

Cannot establish connection

Hello,

I'm unable to make a WiDi connection to my TV. I have an ASUS Q500A laptop with Win 8.1 and all updates applied. I use a Neatgear PTV 3000 whose firmware has been updated. When I run the Intel WiDi Update Tool I'm told that no updates are required and I'm ready to connect. My "Push to TV" shows up as a Project Screen option. Before I attempt to connect, my TV says "Ready to connect" with some additional material. When I select the connection "Push to TV", my laptop and TV screen flash black, then say "connecting", then repeat the flash and message, and finally return to the "Ready to connect" screen. I never see a passcode request or any other message I've unplugged and rebooted all devices involved with no change.

I learned how to create a WiDi session log on the Intel site. It's about 1500 lines and I don't know how to read it at all. But some of the error-like messages involved include "LoadVad:CreateFile failed",

"CUIBCServer::Start - CreateFile() failed ",

"RequestBustoLoadVAD - LoadVad:CreateFile failed",

"CDSStreamer::LoadVirtualAudio - Load VAD (2CH) failed (Check if bus driver properly loaded)",

"CWiDiSmartAgent::HandleStartStreaming - get_MACAddr FAILED",

"CDSStreamer::GraphThread - Failed to build the graph",

"CDDEAgent::RecvThread - recv(msg...) failed",

"getInstalledFWVersion - WiDiApp path not found, no FW installed",

"WiDi VAD Render endpoint not found at all", "WiDi VAD Capture endpoint not found at all",

"VAD is not configured correctly, Renderer ok: 0, Capture ok: 0",

"VAD is not configured correctly, notifying app",

"ReportMiracastSessionStatusToOS - Calling OS ReportSessionStatus(handle=000000730F052550, Status=0, Error=0x80000002) [L=5][M=MCUMD][F=igdMCUMD.cpp: 968]".

It then appears to initiate a streaming stop and shutdown process. My log excerpts are incomplete and not necessarily in order. It appears that all occurances of "fail" were associated with VAD (Virtual Audio Driver?), yet the update tool found no driver problems.

Can anyone diagnose my issues from this information or suggest what I try next?

Thanks,

I have HP DV7 7015ca laptop, it came preinstalled with WiDi, so I know for a fact my laptop supports WiDi

but when i upgraded to windows 8, the upgrade adviser told me to uninstall and reinstall after i've upgraded to windows 8
and that when the problem came in, after i've upgraded to windows 8, i can't reinstall widi

the widi installer keeps telling me my platform isn't compatible, but it is

I meet all the system requirements on the requirements page :Support Knowledge Base

and it was previously installed, so how can it possibly be not compatible?
is there some kind of solution to this?

Picture cropped on TV with Windows 8.1

Hi,

I recently upgraded my laptop to Windows 8.1, so I followed the instructions in this article to enable WiDi: http://supportkb.intel.com/wireless/wireless-display/templates/selfservice/intelwidi/#portal/1026/article/5772  After that I was able to mirror my laptop's screen on my TV using the built-in wireless display feature of Windows 8.1 but now the picture is cropped on the TV. Previously with the WiDi utility there was a way to adjust the TV display image to fit the entire screen using the following procedure: http://supportkb.intel.com/wireless/wireless-display/templates/selfservice/intelwidi/#portal/1026/article/2494, but how do I do this now in Windows 8.1 since the WiDi utility is no longer available?

Here is my setup:

Laptop: ThinkPad T430 (1600x900 native screen resolution)

OS: Windows 8.1 Pro x64

Video adapter: Intel HD 4000 (driver 10.18.10.3316)

Wireless adapter: Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6205 (driver 15.10.3.2)

TV: Sony Bravia (1080p)

WiDi Adapter on the TV: NetGear Push2TV PTV3000 (firmware 2.4.19)

Thanks!

Intel WiDi not working with Windows8 LenovoZ500 IdeaPad

Hi Experts,

I just noticed few days back that my Intel WiDi doesn't work anymore with Windows 8.1 upgrade on my Lenovo Z500 IdeaPad laptop.

My Lenovo laptop specs are as follows:

-Chipset:

Intel(R)_Core(TM)_i7-3612QM_CPU_@_2.10GHz

-Intel HD Graphics 4000

Driver version: 10.18.10.3277

-Intel Centrino Wireless-N 2230

Driver version: 15.12.0.6

When I run the Intel(R) WiDi Update Tool, it says please goto the Manufacture's website to download the latest drivers (see the screenshot attached).Wi-Di.JPG

I have tried to go on Lenovo Website and could not find the drivers for Intel WiDi that works well for Windows 8.1.

I tried installing the WiDi Remote and WiDi Media Share setup for Windows 8.1, but I can seem to get it working.

Please let me know if there are any known issues with these kind of specs with Windows 8.1.

I would really appreciate any suggestions.

Looking forward to hear soon.

Regards,

Nick

Netgear PTV300 and Dell Win 8.1 connection Problems

$

I have a relatively new Dell 4th generation laptop with Win 8.1.  Latest updates including the Miracast update from Microsoft last week.  Using a NetgearPTV3000, also relatively new.

Occasionally selecting "project" from the charms bar everything works as it should.  Much more commonly though, the netgear WiDi device fails to connect.  Usually if I delete the device from windows and then re-select that allows a connect.  Sometimes I have to also cycle power to the Netgear device AND uninstall/reinstall the device in Windows.  I have used the Intel update tool and I'm current on the WiDi software.

It's just a PITA to use so I sometimes end up just using a HDMI cable from my laptop to my TV.  Kinda defeats the whole purpose of WiDi.  When it connects it works great but that is the problem.  Rarely does it connect without a long convoluted process.

Any ideas??

Missing "Add another display" Option in the charms menu Windows 8.1

I upgraded to windows 8.1 and was trying to wirelessly connect to my Samsung smart TV for screen mirroring. I went to the charms menu click project and noticed there is no option for add another display in the project tab. After doing some research it seems i wasn't the only one having this issue after upgrading to windows 8.1. From what i have seen some people have had luck by manually re installing the latest graphics drivers and that has seemed to help most. Unfortunately i haven't had the same luck as was wondering if anyone out there could help me fix this issue.

My Computer:

Windows 8.1 Pro 64bit (6.3, Build 9600)

Processor: Intel Core i5-4590S 3.00GHZ

Graphics: Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600

Memory: 8GB

DirectX version: 11

Network Adapters:

          Qualcomm AtherosAR9485 Wireless Network Adapter

          Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller

I made sure to check for windows updates and it shows i'm up to date. I have also tried to make sure all my drivers are up to date and it seems i have all the latest drivers

Any advice on what i could possibly do to fix this issue?

If there is any other information that is needed please let me know

Thank you.

Hello,

I want to connect view the Screen of my notebook on my Samsung ue46f5570 Smart TV using WiDi.

For that I installed

- Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5

- the latest driver for my Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6205 Network Adapter (15.11.0.7)

- the latest driver for my Intel HD Graphics 4000 (9.18.10.3359)

- Intel ProSet/Wireless Tools (17.0.6)

- Intel WiDi (4.2.29)

- the latest driver for my Intel i5-3320M 2,6 GHz processor

After starting Screen Mirroring on the TV, I connect both devices with WiDi. The Samsung tells me the devices are now connected, but then I can only see the mouse cursor on the black screen. In the top right corner there is a small window showing the text "loading", but nothing more will happen.

Hope someone has an idea what is causing this error.

Thanks for help and best regards

Sebastian

WiDi Problems, Is there a work around ?

Hi Everyone,

May seem like a stupid question but I'm finding it impossible to connect my laptop with my LG Smart TV (Which has built in WiDi) it's my laptop that is the problem

My Processor and graphics card is compatible with the intel program but my WiFi adapter is not, so my stupid question is.. Is there a way around this, so i can use WiDi without having to buy a compatible wireless adapter as I'm using a laptop and I'd imagine that being more hassle than its worth. Or am I just unlucky and unable to use this program at all. -

Widi & Windows 8.1 problems

Hi,

I have a Belkin Screencast adapter and an ASUS Zenbook UX31A.

I have updated Windows 8 to Windows 8.1 and launched the latest Widi software to check the configuration. With Windows 8.1, it is no longer necessary to have the Widi application.

The problem is that when I connect my Belkin adapter from the charm menu, the connection with the PIN code is successful, then my PC screen goes black and my TV displays "Connection in progress"...... Then my PC screen goes back to my Windows desktop and my TV returns to "Ready to connect".

So, the connection fall down and it is impossible to connect it correctly. I repeadted theses steps and the connection is always stopped before displaying anything on my TV....n

All my drivers are up to date... Do you have solutions ?

Intel WiDi (4.0.18.0) keep asking for security code

$

Hi,

This start happening some time ago, I was hoping for a fix but nothing changed (I am now on version 4.0.18.0). Every time when I connect to my Netgear PTV2000 I get asked for the security code. I use Windows 7 x64. I think this start happening with version 3.5.x or something don't remember exactly, but for sure it was not there on beginning when I got the adapter. If I remember well the initial firmware (and WiDi version) just asked for a 4 digit code, once and I did not have to enter it anymore after. After one of the updates which includes also a firmware update the code changed is more digits and each time I connect I need to enter. I reseted Netger to factory settings uninstalled and reinstalled the WiFi, WiDi software and drivers but to no effect. So what is the fix ? Just don't tell me that this is a feature and is by design. This alone almost kills WiDi for me (it's faster to plug an HDMI cable than to key code each time). Thank you.

PTV3000 and Windows 7

$

I purchased a NetGear PTV3000 about a week ago and I have had success with connecting and displaying with my Galaxy S3. However, I have been trying to connect to my PTV3000 from my Windows 7 Desktop all day with no success. Here are some pertinent system details:

Compatibility with Intel WiDi

CPU: Intel Core i5-3550

Wireless Adapter: Intel Centrino Wireless-N 2200 BGN 2x2 HMC WiFi/Bluetooth Adapter

OS: Windows 7 Ultimate x64 SP1

Push2TV Adapter: PTV3000

Driver and Firmware Versions:

Intel WiDi:

  • 3.0.13.0 (Can click connect but receive "Unable to send desktop to remote display" error and display does not show up)
  • 3.1.29.0 (Netgear Recommended Version for my PTV3000 firmware version, Click connect and nothing happens. The device connected noise occurs but the WiDi software does not exhibit a change.)

Intel Centrino Driver: 15.2.0.19

Push2TV 3000: 2.2.9 and 2.2.12, neither are working from my desktop.

Intel HD Graphics 2500 Driver: 9.18.10.3071

I also have 2x GTX 670's as my active video adapter(s), not sure if that even matters.

The Release Notes for PTV3000 firmware version 2.2.12 specify the following support:

Windows 7, Intel Wireless Display V3.1.29.0, Wifi driver V15.1.1

Windows 7, Intel Wireless Display V3.5.41.0,  Wif driver V15.3.1

Wifi Driver v15.1.1 is no longer obtainable to my knowledge. The lowest version with major version 15 is 15.2.0; As stated above 3.1.29.0 clicking the connect button does not do anything. v3.5.41.0 claims it is incompatible with my system hardware.

I was wondering if anyone has had any success stories with the PTV3000 and Windows 7 or if anyone can see any major flaws in my current setup.

Thank you.

hi,

Recently I brought a smart tv with screen mirroring / wifi-direct/ allsharecast feature.

I have an asus laptop x54l with i3-2330m processor. From the following link I can check that my laptop's processor and graphics card (hd 3000m) is capable of widi.

http://ark.intel.com/products/53434/Intel-Core-i3-2330M-Processor-3M-Cache-2_20-GHz?q=i3-2330

The only thing is not supported is the wlan adapter. If I buy a Intel® Centrino® Wireless-N 2230 mini pcie wlan adapter, shall I be able to use intel widi to out my laptop display to the tv?

thanks,
