I keep getting "Could not obtain network address" msg

Hi all,

 

was wondering if anyone can help me out.  I purchased the PTV1000 and upon initial installation, it worked fine.  During my first use, I saw a msg in the Wireless Display Software app prompting me to upgrade the firmware (that's what I believe it had asked anyway) and I proceeded to do so.  I "think" it was successful (I can't remember now).  After this, I disconnected the Wireless Display software and shut everything down.  A day later, I went to use it again and this is where the problems begin.    I keep getting the "could not obtain network address" msg on my TV screen.  I've tried EVERYTHING in the troubleshoot section of the manual.  I've gone on to the Netgear forums to search for a resolution to no avail. I then decided to come here and continue my search for a solution.  I read some threads that mention to reinstall the Wireless Adapter and the Wireless Display software.  So I've gone ahead and done that, I've uninstalled & reinstalled everything multiple times (with multiple versions etc).....  so far nothing has worked.

 

Can anyone help me out?  It would be greatly appreciated. 

 

My laptop is definitely compatible since it worked on the first try.
