Deleted Widi audio device, how to restore?

Hi all, I have an Asus UX31 Zenbook pro (HD 4000 Win 7, fully updated). Due to misguided advice here:

http://communities.intel.com/message/150196

(on how to get both the laptop speakers and TV speakers working simultaneously) I deleted the Widi audio device (in Win7 Hardware audio devices> Sound > playback). I followed the instructions below:

- using Windows 7 - go to control panel -> hardware and sounds -> manage audio devices

- select speaker/IWD (Intel widi audio devices) and click on Properties

- under device usage - select (Don't use this device (disable))

Anyway now that extra audio device ("Intel widi audio devices") disappeared (only the laptop speakers are there) and widi doesn't work at all. Get a message "Intel my wifi not enabled. Restart computer and try again". Needless to say, a reboot doesn't fix it.

I tried:

Uninstalling Widi (I have version 3.0.13.0)  and re-installing from the laptop driver folder. It reinstalled successfully, but without the said audio device and when started, I get the same error message.

Also tried restoring win7 to a version before the time I made this unfortunate change. Also tried re-scanning for new hardware.

Also tried installing version 4 from the intel website. Now Widi starts with no error, but won't recognize my Belkin Widi adapter. (before it had no trouble doing so).  It just says no adapters when I scan. And the intel widi audio device still isn't on the list.

None of that worked.

Please help...

thanks!!
