My Dell 17R widi equipped laptop cannot connect to my 47" LG LM7600 HDTV. However, my laptop connects through my NetGear PTV2000 WiDi adapter on my other 32" LG without issue.
All day I tried endless times to connect my Dell I5 with WiDi to my new LG WiDi ready tv. Per LG's onscreen instruction's, I turned the tv's "Wi-Fi Screen Share" to on. I then turned on my laptop's WiDi utility. The laptop saw the NetGear PTV2000 connected to the other tv in another room but not the new LG 47LM7600. I updated the laptop's WiDi wireless display software to the latest version (pro) and tried multiple times to have it search for the tv without sucess. At "one" point, it actually saw the tv...just once and then lost it. At one point, during the laptop's reboot, the tv asked if I wanted to have it connect to "Don-PC" the name of the laptop. WHen I clicked "yes", it said the connection was not successful and would I like to try again.
I called LG's customer support, which was absoutely useless. The agents know "nothing" about WiDi. What they do know is simpy the ability to pull up some notes from their computer and that's it. The main reason I chose this LG tv was the WiDi feature. Again, my laptop connects just fine with the other LG through the NetGear PTV2000.
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Steve
