Please check the System requirements for Intel® WiDi.
The first generation mobile Intel® Core processors with Intel® HD Graphics support Intel® WiDi Software 3.0 as the latest version.
The second generation mobile Intel® Core processors with Intel® HD Graphics 2000/3000 support Intel® WiDi Software up to version 4.x. For Windows* 8.1 the software version 4.3.3 must be obtained via Intel® WiDi Update Tool.
The third and fourth generation mobile and desktop Intel® Core processors with Intel® HD Graphics 2500/4000 and newer support Intel® WiDi Software up to version 4.2.x in Windows* 7/8. For Windows* 8.1 the connection method is via Charms: Devices, Project, Add a wireless display.
Some recent processor models such as the Intel® Celeron and Intel® Atom from the article above are only supported with Windows* 8.1 using the “Add a wireless display” option.
While we generally suggest the use of the Intel® WiDi Update Tool for installation in general, some systems may require the use of the drivers provided by the system manufacturer.
