Hi everyone.
I bought a new Toshiba 39L4353DB which has built-in WiDi functionality.
I'm using my Windows 8.1 laptop to connect to the TV, the laptop is a Clevo P170SM with an intel i7-4700MQ + GTX 780M GPU and the wireless card is an Intel Centrino advanced 6235.
When I try and play a video that I've got stored on my laptops SSD with WiDi enabled, the playback is very choppy and laggy, there are constant frame skips and large portions of the screen have horizontal green lines running across periodically, even when paused.
I've tried both duplicate and second screen only mode but the problem persists with both.
I also tried playing a game over WiDi. The frame rate is usually 60 on my laptop but when I turn Widi on the frame rate is exactly 30 on both the laptop and the TV in duplicate mode and 30 on the TV in second screen only mode. I think that's due to the 30fps limit for 1080p steaming over widi, but even though the frame rate appears as 30 the game is incredibly choppy. Considerably more so than regular videos. The game is unplayable, it seems as if the frame rate is closer to 5 or 6 rather than 30.
What my question is basically how can I improve video streaming/gaming over widi? I've updated all my drivers (I'm unsure if I need to or if I even can update software on the TV) on my laptop but the problem still hasn't been solved. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
