WiWe got one of these P2TV3000 devices last year and fought over and over again to get the thing to work. Eventually finding a dropbox link to firmware and using the latest drivers that finally got everything working. We haven't used it for months but we're about to have a presentation at the office on Wednesday, so decided to hook it all back up. Now, back to nothing but failures.
I'm assuming one or more of the windows 8 updates caused it to no longer function. I went ahead and updated the firmware to 2.2.16. Intel update has us now at:
Intel HD Graphics 4000 9.18.10.3165
Intel Chipset Software 9.3.0.1020
Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6205 15.8.0.0
Intel Wireless Display Software 4.0.18.0
When I connect, the tablet doesn't think it has any issues at all. On the tv, I -occasionally- get a quick flash of a HDCP error before it goes to an all black screen. 99% of the time after the connecting message, it's straight to a black screen.
I've tried two tvs(one of which I even updated its firmware just to be on the "trying anything and everything" side), two hdmi cables, connecting straight to the usb port on both tvs, or a separate power supply, with three different usb cables.
I've tried downgrading back to 3.5.4 WiDi, with 15.6.1 and 15.5.6 networking(the only things I still had sitting around from getting it to
work in December) and going back to 2.2.2 firmware. Absolutely no go. Same damned black screen and windows thinking everything is okay.
If I connect either of the tvs with either of the hdmi cables directly to the tablet, it works great(and can play movies just fine, so I know HDCP is working).
What are my next steps? I've posted to Netgears forums, but they then direct me to Intel.
