Miracast WIDI Confusion

I am troubleshooting an issue where my Lenovo G50 laptop running Windows 10 64 bit will connect to my Roku HDMI stick but there is only audio with a black screen for about 2 minutes then disconnects.  When the connection happens Intel WiDi displays on the primary monitor.

The Roku has Screen Mirroring capability and is in Beta so it is not a WiDi certified device.  I have two tablets that will connect with Windows 10 using Miracast but does not (to my knowlege) use WiDi.

So here is my confusion.  Is WiDi and Miracast the same thing?

My first thought in obtaining a connection to the Roku would be to remove anything that is Intel WiDi so that Windows 10 Miracast can do the work.  Is that an acceptable solution?

Even more strange is that the Lenovo did connect up to it two times with video when I tried it out for the very first time.  It hasn't worked since after updating or downgrading video drivers, WiDi Update tools, Driver Update tools, etc.

Another interesting thing...I see with the tablets running the Intel Graphics program the Roku (as a Samsung product?) as a second display.  I do not see a wireless display connected with the Lenovo even with the black screen and audio only.

Thanks for any ideas that you can offer.

Jerry
