Hi,

I am trying to connect my Dell XPS 15 to a Belkin Screencast but keep getting error message as Unable to send desktop to remote display.

Steps followed were as below:

1> Open Intel Widi

2> Scan for Adaptor

3> Connect to Adaptor

4> Enter the Security Pin

5> After security configuration is successful, The Belkin Screencast display as connected to Intel Wireless display but the Widi App shows the status as ""Connecting".

After 20-30 secs, the Belkin Screencast screen goes back to its original view and the Widi App on the laptop throws back error as

"Unable to send desktop to the Remote Display"

I have been trying to solve this for the last 2 days but no avail.

My systems config is as below including the driver versions.

OS NameMicrosoft Windows 7 Home Premium
System Manufacturer  Dell Inc.
System ModelXPS L521X
ProcessorIntel(R) Core(TM) i7-3612QM CPU @ 2.10GHz, 2101 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 8 Logical Processor(s)

Graphics Driver:

NameNVIDIA GeForce GT 640M
Adapter TypeGeForce GT 640M, NVIDIA compatible
Driver Version9.18.13.697
NameIntel(R) HD Graphics 4000
Adapter TypeIntel(R) HD Graphics Family, Intel Corporation compatible
Driver Version9.17.10.2875

Intel Centrino Advanced N6235 - v15.3.1.2

Intel PROSet/Wireless Wifi Software - v15.3.1.0

Intel My Wifi Dashboard - v15.1.1

Intel Widi - v3.5.40

Widi Receiver:

Belkin Screencast

I have also tried the below solutions with no luck :

1> Move the Belkin Screencast to a different place :-)

2> Update All my drivers from the Intel site in the right order and also from Dell(Though not the 1 which I updated from intel). Intel site now shows that all my drivers are up to date.

3> Change/modify the Intel PROSet Wireless software to disable and re-enable it again

4> Add the Widi App and the DHCP server to the firewall(McAffee)

5> Disabled the firewall

6> Open the Widi App specifically using the Intel Default Graphics and not the NVidia graphics.

7> Reset the Belkin Screencast

8> Reboot the laptop for billion time.

I have literally ran out of options now.

Any suggestions would be highly appreciated

Cheers

Shashank
