Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter and Dell Latitude E7440 (C9JTVZ1)

I have a Dell Latitude E7440. This Device has:

- Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4600U CPU @ 2.10GHz

- Intel Wireless 7260 AC

- Intel HD Graphics 4400

Installed is Microsoft Windows 8.1 Pro. There is no VPN or Virtualization Software installed. All the drivers are current (from intel website) and alle the firmwares are up to date.

- Driver Graphics: 10.18.14.4170 / 16.03.2015

- Driver Wifi: 17.16.0.4 / 23.03.2015

The issue starts with, that I have not the option to add a wireless display in the chars menu. I get the classic selection of the 4 display modi (single, mirror, extend, only 2nd).

I ran dxdiag and in the textfile of the tool it says, that Miracast is not supported by Wifi Driver.

My understanding is, that the Miracast Adapter is compatible to this Wifi Adapter, the Wifi Adapter was designed for WiDi but it "downgrades" to Miracast. Anyhow, I don't know if the dxdiag is actually an indicator of a problem or actually true, as the wifi adapter does WiDi and therefore not declaring Miracast Support to the System.

I also checked if I can add the adapter manually through "add device", but the device does not get listed.

The absence of the "add wireless display" is as far as I can see the key to get it working, but so far I had no success in getting Windows to the point showing that option.

Just to make clear, my WiFi Adapter settings has no addition in it, there is no vpn or virtualization software installed. No Fritzbox Remotedesktop Software and no GPO from the domain, that limits AddHoc Networks.

Any help is appriciated.

regards

Philipp
